Gemma embarked on her professional path in early 2000 in the Royal Navy as an Electronic Warfare Operator Mechanic, demonstrating her early dedication to service.
She then went on to explore a different domain, serving as cabin crew with Monarch Airlines, highlighting her adaptability and customer service skills.
Transitioning to a healthcare role, in 2011, she became a Healthcare Assistant at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity in Germany, supporting healthcare for both serving personnel and civilians. Her path continued as a Pre-analytical Team Leader at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, overseeing blood sample processing for analysis. Subsequently, as a Phlebotomy Supervisor in the NHS, she ensured efficient and high-quality blood sample collection. Her healthcare career culminated as the Pre-analytical Lead Supervisor in Phlebotomy at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), where she played a pivotal role in maintaining the quality of pre-analytical processes.
In December 2022, Gemma took the role of a Senior Project Manager at UK Biocentre, where she was able to fully utilise her project management skills and in March 2023, Gemma assumed her current position as the Head of Project Management Office at UK Biocentre.
Gemma's journey exemplifies her versatility, adaptability, and steadfast commitment to excellence, making her an invaluable asset to UK Biocentre.
